2nd snowiest season EVER with a cumulative snowfall of 1437cm

The snow depth observed on April 13th was recorded at 1437cm, which is the second highest annual snow accumulation in Whistler’s history. The weekends have been crowded with skiers and snowboarders seeking fresh powder. There is still much more to come this season and beyond. Right now, a few students are graduating and taking with them fond memories of Whistler. Those days spent at the teachers’ houses, parties for various occasions and the daily dosage of winter sports. The staff at Advantage E/J wish you all the best and are most definitely waiting to see you again soon.

Olympic torch has arrived in Whistler!

Only 3 days left until the start of the 2010 Winter Olympics and the village has been bussling with activiy for weeks. Uniforms from every nation can be seen daily and the latest commotion was the arrival of the Olympic torch which has travelled a record breaking distance of 45,000km. Students at Advantage E/J school are about to indulge in numerous events starting this week.

Advantage E/J Christmas party with an extra spicy Mexican dish

Our annual Christmas party was a success once again. Everyone had a Merry time with a karaoke competition and an assortment of party games that continued on until late into the night. Everyone brought a little treat to the Advantage E/J potluck party, including our newest teacher Angie who surprised us with an extra spicy Mexican dish. Delicious! We are now well into the winter season and just ahead will be the long awaited and much anticipated 2010 Winter Olympics. Much excitement awaits and we hope that you will all have a wonderful new year!

Whistler Mountain opens 12 days early

Whistler Mountain is opening early, this Saturday, November 14 with more than 100 cm of snow. Blackcomb Mountain will open on Thursday, November 26.

Only three weeks left until the mountain opens, snow has reached all the way to midstation. The opening day is scheduled for November 26, 2009. Until the ski season starts some students will be intensely studying English, while others are aiming for the instructor training course. We all enjoyed another annual Halloween celebration at Advantage E/J and Pat (teacher) made everybody a delicious pumpkin pie. Thank you so much Pat for the lovely treat!
